New England Conservatory of Music scrapbooks, 1888-1904 [microform].

Includes three separate scrapbooks. The 1st scrapbook, Appeal for government aid, 1888-1890, includes addresses to the Massachusetts Legislature by NEC Director Eben Tourjée and NEC trustees, reports from hearings, testimonials, commendations, and newspaper clippings. The 2nd, from 1892-1901, includes clippings from out-of-state newspapers and articles on individual students, NEC activities, and reviews of concerts and recitals. The 3rd, from 1900-1904, includes newspaper clippings about NEC activities, student recitals, the openings of the new Huntington Avenue building and the new dormitories on Hemenway St., and the first concert in Jordan Hall.
